Amazones
Francisco
de Orellana was a Spanish conquerer who crossed the Amazone
River from the beginning till the end in 1542. During the
journey he and his men saw armed female warriors. They were
very advanced in their battles.
This reminded Fransisco de Orellana of the Greek myth about
the Amazones which Homerus mentioned in his writings in
the early 4th century before Christ. The name of the river
is also distract from the female warriors.
