Caboclos
The caboclos are the biggest population group in the Amazon.
They find their origin in the natives and the rich foreign
entrepeneurs, who aim at the treasures of the Amazon. Because
of these entrepeneurs the cities Manaus and Belém
have grown into big cities. The Cablocos never knew anything
else but the wood and the river. They live at the water
in wooden cottages, usual together with their relatives.
The villages are small and there isn't many contact with
the world outside.
To stay alive they provide themselves with corn, fruit and
fish. Product that they don't use, are being sold at the
market wich they visit often. Nowadays the sold products
at market aren't the only earnings anymore. They also earn
from tourists which visit their villages on their holidays.
